Our Vision
Our vision is to empower citizens with access to timely, accurate, and meaningful data that drives transparency, accountability, and good governance, and fosters multi-stakeholder collaboration and public participation for evidence-based decision-making.
Our Approach
Through these strategies, Gov Data Initiative, Inc. seeks to promote data-driven public decision-making, transparency, accountability, and collaboration in government, and empower citizens to play an active role in shaping their communities.
Data Analysis for Better Governance
We promote an approach to public data analysis that leverages on the use of interactive visualizations, data stories and insights using existing digital tools that can provide policy-makers with accurate, meaningful and more understandable information for evidence-based public decision-making, and ultimately help to improve governance at all levels.
Fiscal Transparency for Development Outcomes
We advocate for open fiscal data to promote transparency and accountability in the whole public financial management (PFM) cycle–specifically on government revenue, tax, budget, and expenditure, public procurement and contracting, and program execution–and the linking of such data with sustainable development goals and other national and local level outcomes.
Multi-Stakeholder Collaboration and Public Participation
We promote collaboration among government, civil society, and private sector stakeholders to foster evidence-based decision-making throughout the whole public policy cycle. By bringing together diverse perspectives and expertise, we aim to create more informed and effective policies that better serve the needs of society.
