2025 PREDICT Dataquest

The Projecting Revenues from Extractives for the Development and Investment in Communities (PREDIC) Tool Dataquest is an innovative event aimed at promoting transparency and accountability in the Philippine mining sector, particularly in Cebu and Palawan. Themed, From Mines to Minds: Leveraging Data for Equitable Development in Resource-Rich Communities, highlights the critical role of data in ensuring inclusive development outcomes from the extractives sector. The Dataquest is an exciting event designed to showcase participants' creativity in using the PREDICT tool and data storytelling techniques to help address real-world challenges in the mining sector. Throughout the competition, participating teams and individuals will leverage their data analysis and visualization skills to communicate insights derived from the PREDICT tool, highlighting its significance in disclosing economic, social, and environment data and facilitating informed decision-making within communities. Participants are tasked with presenting compelling data stories that resonate with diverse stakeholders, including local communities, government agencies, and mining companies. Ultimately, the Dataquest aims to promote transparency and accountability in the mining sector while empowering participants to drive positive development outcomes through data-driven approaches.​​​

• Explore innovative approaches to leverage the PREDICT tool's capabilities in addressing specific challenges faced by mining communities with specific focus on environmental impacts;

• Highlight the role of data storytelling in promoting transparency and accountability in the mining sector; and
